Neurotech Forum – International forum on neuromorphic computing

4 November, 2019

Images shows the title, date and venue of the event

The event will gather academic and industrial representatives to discuss the progress and challenges the European academic world is facing in the development of neuromorphic computing technology. Industry stakeholders are set to have a key role in shaping future research directions and to facilitate the uptake of existing technology.

Neuromorphic computing (NMC) has emerged as a new technology with great potential to enable information processing at very low energy cost using electronic devices that emulate the electrical behaviour of biological neural networks. The European academic community has developed leading expertise in NMC, however, there are important R&D challenges that hinder the faster uptake of this technology. Potential applications include smart industry, health-care, intelligent assistive systems, cognitive robotics, and consumer devices.

The programme and list of speakers are available on the Neurotech forum website. The event is taking place on 4 November in Leuven, Belgium and registration is free of charge.

About Neurotech project

Neurotech is an EU-funded project supporting state-of-the-art neuromorphic computing (NMC) technology. NMC is a brain-inspired sensing and processing hardware for more efficient and adaptive computing. Together with the European NMC research community, Neurotech will develop a roadmap for the future progress of this technology and its uptake by industry.
